A premium car is a serious purchase. Before you pay, put these seven questions to the seller. A good seller will answer them clearly.
1. Can I test drive the car?
You should be able to drive the car yourself and feel how it handles before you decide.
2. Can I bring my own mechanic?
An independent mechanic will check things you cannot. Be careful with any seller who says no.
3. Are the customs documents complete?
Ask to see them in person, and check that the details match the car in front of you. Be careful with copies sent online, because they are easy to fake.
4. What are the exact year, trim and engine?
Models and trims can look alike but be priced very differently. Get the details in writing.
5. Are payment plans available?
If you do not want to pay in full at once, ask what plans are on offer before you commit.
6. Do you accept trade-ins?
If you already own a car, you may be able to put it towards your next one.
7. What happens after I buy?
Ask what support you get once the car is yours.
